Anger Management

Is the anger that you experience holding you back from achieving everything you can do in your life? In extreme cases people who have symptoms of anger will feel immediately irritable upon waking in the morning. They seek out someone to ‘take it out on’ in an effort to find some release from their feelings. This can be a spouse or other family member, and unfortunately nobody benefits from these angry exchanges.

Anger managementWhat Is Anger Management?

Anger management helps people to breakdown their anger and understand the reasons behind it so they can let it go. When anger gets in the way it is not a positive way to live and share your live with others, but there are steps that can be taken to help control anger. The gains can be unbelievable and you will experience incredible improvements in your relationships at home, work and in every social and personal aspect of your life.

Variations In Anger

There is a wide variation in anger. Some people stay angry for a long time, while others have a fleeting feeling of anger. Some people are angry all the time and others seldom feel angry, but in all cases these episodes can be explosive.

How Is Anger Displayed

Often people display their anger by raising their voice/shouting. Public displays can include punching walls and doors, throwing objects against walls and floors, verbally attacking people, and in extreme cases it can result in violence towards others.
If your outbursts are regular and intense, you need to ask yourself if you are becoming too angry too often? If so it may be time you started an anger management programme?

Anger And It’s Impact On Health

Not only does anger lead to interpersonal issue like problems with your spouse, children, neighbors and work colleagues, it can also cause serious health problems including high blood pressure, strokes, heart disease, hypertension, and some believe it can also lead to cancer.

How To Deal With Anger

It’s never too soon to seek assistance with your problem and there are many effective anger management programmes out there. These programmes follow stages that will:

  1. Phase 1: Help you become aware of your anger and be able to identify when you are becoming angry without real need. You will also learn to understand the massive negative impact your anger has on your life, and that you are capable of change.
  2. Phase 2: You will learn to use coping methods so that you do not automatically respond to negative situations with anger. You will learn how to relax and confront your circumstances without anger flaring up and controlling your response. You will learn how to problem solve instead of just becoming irritable.
  3. Phase 3: You will then discover that some problems cannot be solved as the person you are angry with is deceased or out of contact or simply they do not want to talk to you. You then learn forgiveness and that not all circumstances are within your control.

Basic Anger Management Techniques

You can start taking control of your life right now by practicing these simple anger management techniques:

  1. Take long deep breaths. Breathe deeply into your abdomen. Anger is a form of panic so it’s important to relax and calm yourself.
  2. If possible take a walk outdoors, keep taking deep breaths and try put things into perspective.
  3. Do some exercises. Take a moment to do some stretching to relive tension in your body and get more oxygen into your system. This is an excellent anger management technique and it works.
  4. Assure yourself of a positive outcome. Remind yourself that a positive action now will prevent you from adding to your problems. Remind yourself that you are a good person with the character and strength to get through tough times, after all you’ve do so before.
  5. Express your anger in writing by jotting down on paper about why you are upset and how angry you feel. Don’t hold back in your writing, just let as much anger as possible out on the page and rid your mind of those thoughts. Write until you feel you are calming down and the main explosive anger is gone.
  6. Don’t stop writing just yet, now that you anger is passing it’s time to write out a list of things that are good and that you can feel grateful for. Take control, turn the negative into a positive.

Email List Management Options

Mail lists can be extremely valuable assets to any business with an online presence, and good management of the subscriber list will reap the most benefits for your business. It’s important to have a reliable mailing list management system set-up to keep track of all your subscribers and so you can send bulk emails or ‘email blasts’ to your audience.

It’s worth noting that poor email list management services can lead to a loss customer trust and even have your website banned from your server because of Spam complaints. Emails must be CAN-SPAM compliant to avoid this happening (see http://www.legalarchiver.org/cs.htm). With this in mind you can imagine how important it is to have a capable and experienced manger of your list.

If you are managing your own mailing list, you should educate yourself about the correct way to manage and grow your subscriber base. This is not something currently taught in most colleges, but there is a lot of information online (of varying quality) about this. We’ll cover learning how to manage an email list in a separate article.

A good mailing list manager will make an effort to build a rapport and trust with their email lists. This involves providing useful information to for them that will be of genuine value. It may also mean answering individual queries and providing some one-on-one time with subscribers, as well as sending bulk email marketing newsletters. This can all take a lot of time, and sometimes hard to justify if the return on investment is poor.

List Management Software

An other duty of an email list manager is to create and usually install the email sign-up form in web pages. They will also need to build up and manage a number of bulk mail auto-responders. These emails will be sent sequentially to a subscriber over a designated period of time after the opt-in to your list.

Choosing the right software is vital when setting up your mailing list. A personal favorite is Awebers email marketing and list management software. This inexpensive online mailing list software is easy to use. The www.Aweber.com web forms can be set-up by a non-technical person; the 24hr support is second to none; and the software provides invaluable marketing reports, including how many people opened your email blast, what links they clicked in your newsletter and much more.

There is also free email marketing software (usually open source or shareware) available online. Many of the better web hosting services (like www.hostgator.com) also include easy to install free mailing list software. Again, this is easy to install but if you are unsure you can contact hostgators their online chat support which provides excellent customer support service any time.

Some businesses use email clients like Microsoft’s Outlook Express to mange their mailing lists. While this is free to use once you have the software, it soon becomes difficult to manage and hard to keep track of. If you are serious about managing a mailing list for the medium to longterm, this is not a recommended way to do it. Again a service like Aweber is inexpensive and far supiorur for mailing list managers.

Planning Your Email Campaign

The old saying ‘fail to plan, plan to fail’ is certainly true when it comes to managing email campaigns. Before you set-up an opt-in form or send one email you should plan your entire campaign strategy. Without this plan you will make mistakes or soon lose interest in sending out your newsletter broadcasts. Decide how often you will send emails, and write a group of auto-responders and have create them in the system as newsletters in advance. Divide up your subscribers into relevant groups so that you are emailing information to be that is relevant to their interests, instead of sending the same message to everyone.

Don’t load images directly into your newsletters, instead upload them to a server where the can be referenced when the newsletter is opened in the customers inbox. No one likes waiting for the email to come in because of image and file attachments, and this is one of the fastest ways to get yourself unsubscribers from your mailing list.

Internet marketers have a saying, ‘the money is in the list’. Take your email list management seriously and consider the needs of your subscribers and you will be rewarded with invaluable marketing data and income for many years to come.

What Is Email List Management

In it’s simplest terms, email list management deals with gathering email addresses and sending emails to those addresses, usually in bulk. It also involves removing peoples details from the list when they opt-out or unsubscribe.

Anyone who has and email account has received some form of Spam, probably on a regular basis. They type of email list does not require for you to opt-in or subscribe to it, and the types of emails you’ll receive while on this list will range from harmless advertisements through to adult content links and viruses. This is not the type of email list most people want to be on, and certainly not the type of list most legitimate organisations want to own and manage.

The best way to build an email list is to get people to opt-in to receive your marketing newsletter. This is done by giving them something of perceived value to them in exchange for their newsletter subscription. This is also known as permission marketing, where the person gives you permission to contact them because they signed up for your email blast.

A good email list manager will balance business sales requirements with the desires of the subscriber. For example, it may not always be prudent to try to sell products with every bulk email blast. In other cases the opposite is true, take Amazon’s newsletter broadcasts for example, you would expect them to have a list of products for sale. In either case the balance must be found through trial and error, and analytical studies of your ‘newsletter opening reports’.

Email Marketing Solutions

There are several good email list management software options available to a list manager. The most popular and easiest to use is Aweber. This software is inexpensive, have great support and video guides for easy use, boosts a wide range of email marketing templates to choose from, and offers superior reporting which will discuss in a little more detail.

Awebers reports will tell you how many people opened your email blast, what links in that email they clicked on, how many subscribers you are signing through individual sign-up forms and may options for gather information from opt-ins.

Armed with this information it is easy for an email marketing manager to spot trends and identify what subscribers are interested in (so you can give them more of what works). It’s also designed for the lay-person to use, you don’t have to be a technical genius to successfully use this software. More about Aweber below.

There is a saying in internet marketing that the money is in the list, and a good email list manager can write their own ticket with enough experience and success behind them. For more details and informational videos about Aweber click the link below.

But as many have learned the hard way, there is a right way and a wrong way to manage a project. If you are faced with a complex project and realise that it requires more than a simple list and timetable, then you’re probably ready to appreciate just what goes into good project management.

project managementWhat Is Project Management?

Project management is the application of skills, tools, techniques and knowledge to project activities to achieve the projects goals. This involves the integration and appropriate application of many project management processes made up of The Five Process Groups which are:
